Keira Knightley
Knightley was born in London within the families with actors Will Knightley & Sharman Macdonald as young as six years old was first employed in TV commercials and films. In 1999, she played Sabe for the role of Sabe Star Wars: Episode I: The Phantom Menace. Her first big breakthrough was when she played a teen footballer in the sports film Bend It Like Beckham (2002), and later achieved international fame for her role as Elizabeth Swann in the swashbuckler fantasy series Pirates of the Caribbean, starting in 2003. In 2003, she was a star in the romance comedy Love Actually and was called a promising young woman. Knightley got her first Academy Award nod for Best Actress in 2005 for her portrayal of Elizabeth Bennet, the heroine of the historical romance Pride & Prejudice. She was also a star in a range of additional period works with her character playing a complicated love attraction on the screen in Atonement (2007) and a tastemaker Georgiana Cavendish in The Duchess (2008), and the titular socialite from Anna Karenina (2012). In contemporary dramas she played an aspiring music student as in Begin Again (2012) and as a medical doctor for the role of a physician in Jack Ryan Shadow Recruit (2013). Knightley was back in historical films in The Imitation Game in 2014 when she received an nomination for an Academy Award as Best Supporting Actress.
